At its core, LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS is, as the title implies, a love story and a perfect example of one at that. More than that, it’s the story of two adults falling in love. Yes, there are complications in the relationship, but they aren’t the kind of manufactured, childish bullshit that 95 percent of the world’s romantic comedies seem to thrive upon. These are real-world issues between two flawed individuals who are struggling to find a way to be together against adversities that could easily tear them apart. As upsetting as it might be to see them clumsily maneuver their way around the early stages of this serious relationship, because these two actors are as strong as they’ve ever been, it’s also highly entertaining. LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS is the film adults should make a point to see over this long weekend. As a bonus, for the first half of the movie, you couldn’t pay Hathaway to keep her clothes on. So, there’s that. Enjoy the hell out of this one, people.
via LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS is a great relationship movie almost single-handedly ruined by one performance, says Capone!!! — Ain’t It Cool News: The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news..

- Went to RJ’s house and spent most of the time eating Ate Laleng’s (Awesome halo halo) and Exotic(Ate Bayawak, Sawa Baboy Ramo, Pagi, a shell dish I forget which and another not so common meat)
- Finished Happy Days Are Here Again by Steve Neal an excellent account of the 1932 Democratic Convention.
- Ate at Something Fishiy’s Breakfast Buffet with Rain and Jizel saturday evening after watching Unstoppable at Shangrila.
- Ate at Something Fishiy’s Breakfast Buffet with Peire , Ferdie and Erwin. Had like two shakes and unlimited ice tea.
- Forgot to have my Happy Diner card for kamayan stamped.damn.
- Finally did some googling about the batanes trip. Planning stuff can be very fun.
- Laptop fixing overnight with chuckie and vince. Someone’s going to make it rain if we get the correct SSD card installed.
- Wasted the holiday because of Migraine.
- Started reading A biography of Galileo and Hot, Flat, and Crowded by Tom Friedman.
Notes:
- GLEE::Gwyneth’s Glee guesting was cool. Fuck You should be heard as Forget You. The Singing in the Rain and Umbrella mashup sucked, considering I’ve seen Singing in the Rain about 12 times before my vcd got scratched and find umbrella a nice enough song, the mashup was really bad.
- The Big Bang Theory:: The kiss was 2 seasons in the making. I’m sensing an uptick men kissing on network tv.
- Of the late night tv shows I watch (The Daily Show, Colbert Report, Conan, David Letterman,Jimmy Fallon late night) I love the shows in this order.
Notes:
- Kat Dennings has more charm that the girl who played Ramona. It maybe the role was too thin for her to shine.

Nice post read the whole thing.
When I was a child the mailman came once a day. Now the mail arrives every moment. I used to believe it was preposterous that people could fall in love online. Now I see that all relationships are virtual, even those that take place in person. Whether we use our bodies or a keyboard, it all comes down to two minds crying out from their solitude.

A song dedicated to me and my friends.
Ask
The Smiths
Shyness is nice and
Shyness can stop you
From doing all the things in life
You’d like to
Shyness is nice and
Shyness can stop you
From doing all the things in life
You’d like to
So, if there’s something you’d like to try
If there’s something you’d like to try
Ask me I wont say no, how could I?
Coyness is nice, and
Coyness can stop you
From saying all the things in
Life you’d like to
So, if there’s something you’d like to try
If there’s something you’d like to try
Ask me I wont say no, how could I?
Spending warm Summer days indoors
Writing frightening verse
To a buxom girl in Luxembourg
Ask me, ask me, ask me
Ask me, ask me, ask me
Because if it’s not Love
Then it’s the bomb, the bomb, the bomb,
the bomb, the bomb, the bomb, the bomb
That will bring us together
Nature is a language – can’t you read ?
Nature is a language – can’t you read ?
So, ask me, ask me, ask me,
Ask me, ask me, ask me
Because if it’s not Love
Then it’s the bomb, the bomb, the bomb,
the bomb, the bomb, the bomb, the bomb
That will bring us together
If it’s not Love
Then it’s the bomb
Then it’s the bomb
That will bring us together
So, ask me, ask me, ask me,
Ask me, ask me, ask me
Oh, la…

Currently Playing::New York Minute
“New York Minute”
Harry got up
Dressed all in black
Went down to the station
And he never came back
They found his clothing
Scattered somewhere down the track
And he won’t be down on Wall Street
in the morning
He had a home
The love of a girl
But men get lost sometimes
As years unfurl
One day he crossed some line
And he was too much in this world
But I guess it doesn’t matter anymore
In a New York Minute
Everything can change
In a New York Minute
Things can get pretty strange
In a New York Minute
Everything can change
In a New York Minute
Lying here in the darkness
I hear the sirens wail
Somebody going to emergency
Somebody’s going to jail
If you find somebody to love in this world
You better hang on tooth and nail
The wolf is always at the door
In a New York Minute
Everything can change
In a New York Minute
Things can get a little strange
In a New York Minute
Everything can change
In a New York Minute
And in these days
When darkness falls early
And people rush home
To the ones they love
You better take a fool’s advice
And take care of your own
One day they’re here;
Next day they’re gone
I pulled my coat around my shoulders
And took a walk down through the park
The leaves were falling around me
The groaning city in the gathering dark
On some solitary rock
A desperate lover left his mark,
“Baby, I’ve changed. Please come back.”
What the head makes cloudy
The heart makes very clear
The days were so much brighter
In the time when she was here
But I know there’s somebody somewhere
Make these dark clouds disappear
Until that day, I have to believe
I believe, I believe
In a New York Minute
Everything can change
In a New York Minute
You can get out of the rain
In a New York Minute
Everything can change
In a New York Minute
Musings 2010 11 03 and Wasted Life Vol 03
- Need to jot this down before I forget. Instant favorite Scott Pilgrim vs The World!!!!
- For me it defined a visual style much like Natural Born Killer defined the MTV/Howard Stern 24/7 news cycle was for the early 90’s.
- I liked it more than 500 days of summer, although this may be because of a more conventional ending.
- I’m hating on myself right now If as I suspect I wasn’t able to catch this at a movie theater, although It benefits the other people at the movie house that I would probably have less of a physical and auditory reaction than if I would be seeing it for the first time.
- Edgar Wright was able to make an adaptation to a graphic novel that was not only faithful but actually in my opinion more true to what the original artist envisioned.
- AWESOME. MUST NOT BE MISSED.
PS: I am silently scared of the day when I will no longer be able to get it. I describe not getting it as what you do not have when you watch the graduate and you weren’t alive or at least was part of that era that was being depicted.
Watch and Reading list for last week.
- Neon Genesis Evangelion 1st half and Movies
- The West Wing Season 1
- How I Met Your Mother
- Big Bang Theory
- Community
- GLEE
- The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
- The Colbert Report
- Cloverfield
- I was able to catch 2 episode of How To Make It In America. would probably try watching this.
- Was finally able to finish The Man In The High Castle and it was a great book from one of the masters of fiction.
- Was able to watch the rally to restore sanity and or fear live through web feed. Loved it.
Musings 2010 10 27 17–H
- It seems President Noy didn’t declare Nov 2 as a holiday. FAIL.
- I’ve been out of sorts lately and it just recently came to my attention that Darren Aronofsky is directing Wolverine 2. WOW. I still have problems watching Requiem for a Dream (It depresses me too much, but its), and I still believe that The Fountain was underrated and of course everybody loves “The Wrestler”. I haven’t watched Pi which my sister tells me is very good.
- The internet connectivity of our office was non-existent since Friday last week. That’s globe’s connectivity reliability for you. In other words pag may bayantel don’t even think twice.
- Didn’t like this weeks GLEE episode. Personal reasons.
- Hope someone does a The Daily Show copycat for the Philippines. Two problems with this, who gets to play Jon Stewart. TV5 needs to do this. One of the revamped shows of TV 5 that I found enjoyable was the show which I forgot the name of which was basically TMZ for politicians. If they can copy something like this they should copy The Daily Show and the Colbert Report.
