Nothing against the former president but This is fucking pathetic!

This makes me wonder what is far stronger the need to signal what you are reading or the ability to hide what you are reading?? See, I’ve read a few books that I’d call my guilty indulgences, books I wouldn’t read in public or without their covers covered. And yes if you look at my desk I have a couple of these books, and with the ability to hide them effectively they would comprise a larger percentage of the books I own.

I wonder if Kindle advocates are underestimating how important it is for people to show those around them not just that they like to read, but also what they like to read?

Best Read: Why Pay For The Sins Of The Past:Stumbling and Mumbling: The legacy of slavery

One might ask: why should I pay for the sins of my countrymen’s ancestors? Simple. We are rich for the same reason Africans are poor. They are poor because they were born into a poor continent. We are rich because we were born into a rich one. I’m one of the richest 1% of people on the planet. This is not because I’m smart, or hard-working or charming. It’s because I was born in the right place. Any individual who thinks their wealth is the result of their own effort is just an idiot.

Of course, this argument has no weight whatsoever. But this is because empirical evidence and ethical considerations have no role in politics, except as thin veils for ego and self-interest.

Got this one from Pual Kedrosky’s blog here

It’s a relaxed talk, funny at times, interesting most of the time. I was coding while listening to this so this is probably low mental overhead enough to listen to while working.

Joey De Leon’s Poem To Francis Kiko “Master Rapper”Magalona and Tito Sotto

Francis M.
Image via Wikipedia

From probably one of the most versatile, talented and frank/real persons on Philippine Show Biz , idol Joey De Leon, his poem to two of his very close friends :

.
