\nRecently I got an email from a reader asking how he can become more ambitious. He feels like he could do more with his life, but he doesn\u2019t have strong desires for the usual sorts of things that seem to motivate people: wealth, success, fame or prestige.
\nI thought about this question a lot, because in some ways it\u2019s semi-paradoxical.
\nIt\u2019s perfectly normal to want things (e.g. \u201cI want to be rich\u201d). It\u2019s also normal to not to want things you\u2019re unlikely to obtain (e.g. \u201cI wish I weren\u2019t so hungry right now\u201d). But it\u2019s odd to want to\u00a0want<\/em>\u00a0something you currently don\u2019t. It almost feels like asking for an itch so you\u2019d have something to scratch.\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
