Listen while coding.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #111111;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #111111;\">Play keeps us in the moment<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nA  spirit of play engages us and brings us into the content and into the  moment.<\/span><span style=\"color: #111111;\"> Children remind us  that we need more play in the classroom, in the lecture hall, and  especially in the typical conference presentation. But first we adults  must give up the notion that play is <span style=\"color: #111111;\">not serious. We must abandon the notion that work (or study) and  play are opposites. Work and play are inexorably linked, at least the  kind of creative work in which we are engaged today and hope to prepare  our children for. <\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #111111;\">As  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.presentationzen.com\/presentationzen\/2009\/04\/testtest----------------------------------test.html\">Bill  Buxton likes to say,<\/a> &#8220;These things are far too important to take  seriously. We need to be able to play.&#8221;<\/span><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #111111;\"><a style=\"float: right;\" onclick=\"window.open( this.href, '_blank',  'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'  ); return false\" href=\"http:\/\/www.presentationzen.com\/.a\/6a00d83451b64669e201310fe54d27970c-popup\"><br \/>\n<\/a> The  opposite of play (and work) is depression<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #111111;\">In <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ted.com\/talks\/lang\/eng\/stuart_brown_says_play_is_more_than_fun_it_s_vital.html\">this  TED talk below,<\/a> <span style=\"color: #111111;\">Dr. Stuart  Brown reminds us that &#8220;The opposite of play is not work, it&#8217;s  depression.&#8221; Brown makes many good points concerning the importance of  play, not just for children but for all of us.
