A deeper understanding of the universe, new technologies, and a role model for managing broadly distributed and culturally varied organizations: These are outcomes of basic science that are valuable to society. And it’s reasonable to expect the scientific community to deliver them in the short term. The most valuable in terms of sustained improvement of the world is the one closest to my heart—understanding the universe and in the process laying down a new seam of fundamental scientific knowledge for future generations to mine. Human ingenuity being what it is, the future will undoubtedly bring applications based on discoveries made with the LHC. Although, as with Newton’s gravity, it may be some time before we’re privy to all of them, and to their implications. For our children and grandchildren, however, I am sure that the wait will have been worthwhile.
At its core, LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS is, as the title implies, a love story and a perfect example of one at that. More than that, it’s the story of two adults falling in love. Yes, there are complications in the relationship, but they aren’t the kind of manufactured, childish bullshit that 95 percent of the world’s romantic comedies seem to thrive upon. These are real-world issues between two flawed individuals who are struggling to find a way to be together against adversities that could easily tear them apart. As upsetting as it might be to see them clumsily maneuver their way around the early stages of this serious relationship, because these two actors are as strong as they’ve ever been, it’s also highly entertaining. LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS is the film adults should make a point to see over this long weekend. As a bonus, for the first half of the movie, you couldn’t pay Hathaway to keep her clothes on. So, there’s that. Enjoy the hell out of this one, people.

Some stuff I did this past two weeks:
Notes:
Notes:
I score this one against the moralist forces in our country. They are basically against what other countries find successful.
What was their secret? Determined policies to expand educational opportunities and access to health along with a willingness to depart from the conventional wisdom of the day and experiment with their own remedies. Even though all three North African countries are Moslem, empowering of women seems to have played an important role as well:
There is now substantial evidence that the health and schooling of children can be raised by empowering women, and this is precisely what Tunisia did when it raised the minimum age for marriage, revoked the colonial ban on imports of contraceptives, instituted the first family planning programme in Africa, legalized abortion, made polygamy illegal, and gave women the right to divorce as well as the right to stand and vote for election.
What is somewhat puzzling, as Rodriguez and Samman also note, is that these countries have not made nearly as much progress in democratization.
These new “facts” substantially enrich our understanding of the development landscape over the last four decades.

Nice post read the whole thing.
When I was a child the mailman came once a day. Now the mail arrives every moment. I used to believe it was preposterous that people could fall in love online. Now I see that all relationships are virtual, even those that take place in person. Whether we use our bodies or a keyboard, it all comes down to two minds crying out from their solitude.
A song dedicated to me and my friends.
Shyness is nice and
Shyness can stop you
From doing all the things in life
You’d like to
Shyness is nice and
Shyness can stop you
From doing all the things in life
You’d like to
So, if there’s something you’d like to try
If there’s something you’d like to try
Ask me I wont say no, how could I?
Coyness is nice, and
Coyness can stop you
From saying all the things in
Life you’d like to
So, if there’s something you’d like to try
If there’s something you’d like to try
Ask me I wont say no, how could I?
Spending warm Summer days indoors
Writing frightening verse
To a buxom girl in Luxembourg
Ask me, ask me, ask me
Ask me, ask me, ask me
Because if it’s not Love
Then it’s the bomb, the bomb, the bomb,
the bomb, the bomb, the bomb, the bomb
That will bring us together
Nature is a language – can’t you read ?
Nature is a language – can’t you read ?
So, ask me, ask me, ask me,
Ask me, ask me, ask me
Because if it’s not Love
Then it’s the bomb, the bomb, the bomb,
the bomb, the bomb, the bomb, the bomb
That will bring us together
If it’s not Love
Then it’s the bomb
Then it’s the bomb
That will bring us together
So, ask me, ask me, ask me,
Ask me, ask me, ask me
Oh, la…

The market’s down by 15.73 points and the fund is still up by 1.769%. YTD is 117.16 %. You can check the other stats. . I’m going to something fishy so I’ll have to say this quickly. If you have a 100K you and won’t need it for 90 days; this is the low energy approach to investing. I’ve been investing in equity for 6 weeks and I wasn’t able to beat their 17% return last month. Time deposit for 3M gives only about 3-4%. Pre-cautionary tale Value At Risk is 7%.

Some stuff I did this week:
Notes:
As I walk through
This wicked world
Searchin’ for light in the darkness of insanity.
I ask myself
Is all hope lost?
Is there only pain and hatred, and misery?
And each time I feel like this inside,
There’s one thing I wanna know:
What’s so funny ’bout peace love & understanding? Ohhhh
What’s so funny ’bout peace love & understanding?
And as I walked on
Through troubled times
My spirit gets so downhearted sometimes
So where are the strong
And who are the trusted?
And where is the harmony?
Sweet harmony.
‘Cause each time I feel it slippin’ away, just makes me wanna cry.
What’s so funny ’bout peace love & understanding? Ohhhh
